IT Service Management Forum ('itSMF') USA
2014 Project of the Year

Los Angeles County, ISD was awarded 2014 IT Service Management Forum (itSMF) Project of the Year for the US
Western Region.   They were also be nominated as a candidate to receive itSMF’ s US Project of the Year Award which
was awarded to the County project team at the itSMF Fusion 14 conference held in Washington DC in November 2014

MiTECH provided six Consultants to LA County ISD to lead and supported LA County in the design, planning,
management and implementation of the Service Management System Replacement Project.  A huge success for the
County who had made several attempts over five years to replace the legacy HP Service Manager with  a more agile
and cost effective 2nd generation  IT service management software suite.

The benefits derived for implementation of this project has enable the County to improve efficiency and performance
of  it service desk operations and underpinning ITSM applications (improved automation, less tickets, less failed
changes, improved customer satisfaction), improved efficiencies and accuracy of tracking infrastructure assets
through implementation of federated service configuration management architecture and supporting processes and
automation tools.  The county also implemented a service request process with applications and service catalog
management systems to support user requests and inquiries  from County’s 115,000 users.  

This has been a great project and Stephanie Telander (ITSM Section Manager)and Dave Chittenden (CIO) deserve this
prestigious recognition form itSMF USA and its voting members.
